For Dia de los Muertos we collaborated with artist Mincho Vega to hold a candle collage workshop centering ancestors and honoring the lives of those who have passed this year. It was a spiritual and necessary event considering all the beautiful people who have left us this year.
NOT Yet Series Sex Positivity Showcase We facilitated a workshop to celebrate body and sex positivity through collage. A variance of images related to sex and diverse bodies were provided to collage and use to create beautiful layered visuals the participants could take home with them.
We tabled at a zine fest for the closing show of Axis Mundo: Queer Networks in LA alongside The Bettys, Discipline Press, Luna Rio, Precog Magazine, Sula Collective, and others. Not Yet web series and The Unapologetically Brown Series hosted a Pop Up at New Women Space Sunday, July 15th. It was an afternoon of art, food and fellowship. Cósmica hosted a collage making workshop highlighting different women in the arts, culture, music, and social justice.
Cósmica was invited to be a part of Brooklyn Museum’s First Saturday to celebrate the Radical Women: 1960-1985 show. We did a workshop celebrating different radical women and had participants make candles in their image with a bunch of fun art materials.

Hurrican Irma/Maria and the recent earthquakes have left our community from Mexico, Puerto Rico, and many other islands in the Caribbean with complete devastation. That’s why on October 12th, Cósmica hosted Armada Fania’s benefit event to help those in need from these natural catastrophes. 100% of the ticket sales went to organizations helping those in need. There was music by Oscar Nñ, DJ Bembona, and Uproot Andy. We had a beautiful time!
Cósmica was part of the first ever San Anto Zine Fest! In partnership with the historic Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center, there was all types of self published work including: comics, poetry, non-fiction, personal stories, anthologies, photography, art and more. We enjoyed seeing so many beautiful Tejanxs there!
